Rutheneum School in Gera Lighting design for a multi-purpose education centre

Exquisite landmarks enhance any cityscape. The new campus of the Rutheneum grammar school in Gera was designed by Schulz & Schulz Architekten Leipzig, creating a unique educational and cultural facility. The new complex for Gera's oldest grammar school was built over the last five years on the western edge of Gera's old town. In the three connected school buildings, the "Campus Rutheneum" brings together the school locations that were previously scattered throughout the city and creates a functional connection between the school and the old town through permeable open spaces with four campus terraces. The refectory, the all-day area, the library and the administration of the traditional grammar school finally have a central place.

Architecturally, elements of modernism, neo-Renaissance and baroque come together in the campus, united by light from outside and inside. The whole range of our products was used for the different lighting requirements. Ringo Star P1 and Basic are the protagonists in the entrance area and walkways, Matric and Vision cover the learning spaces. Charming subtlety of design: the shape of our luminaires trace the geometric shape of the room.
