Calmness in form and function Acoustically effective and uniform light distribution for modern office environments

The Budapester Salon in Berlin is an interdisciplinary showroom for architecture, interior design and design. Lightnet and its partners present lighting solutions in an architectural context across 150 square metres. The three levels are designed as exhibition and work spaces and feature areas for presentations, concentrated work and confidential discussions.

In modern working environments, the topic of room acoustics is becoming increasingly important. Conversations, keyboard clatter and telephone calls create a permanent background noise that can have a negative effect on concentration and well-being. Targeted acoustic planning improves speech intelligibility and promotes focused work. Open-plan offices in particular benefit from acoustically effective solutions that absorb disturbing noises in a targeted manner. Acoustic comfort is thus becoming a decisive quality feature of contemporary architecture.

The Budapest Salon workspace with our Serenity acoustic luminaires shows how acoustically integrated design solutions can be implemented in practice. They not only create uniform, glare-free light, but also contribute noticeably to acoustic tranquillity. In multifunctional rooms such as this salon, hybrid lighting solutions like these make an important contribution to the quality of the space. The combination of lighting effects and sound absorption supports concentrated work and a restrained design in equal measure.

Serenity is our luminaire series that integrates lighting technology and acoustics in an elegant system. The 3D acoustic fabric by Aleksandra Gaca combines high sound absorption with a textile look and achieves an absorption coefficient of over 90%. Precision lenses ensure glare-free light. The luminaire is available in three shapes and four colours – with optional lighting function or as a pure acoustic element.
