Acoustically effective How Ringo Star Acoustic dampens sound and lends a sense calm to the design

What might the interior design for a pioneer in engineering look like? Sandra von Petersdorff from the architectural firm Von Petersdorff AG explored this question. The new headquarters of Aicher, De Martin, Zweng AG in Lucerne has clean lines, but still retains its welcoming charm.

The rooms express the corporate identity of the specialist in technical building equipment with open spaces and sophisticated materials. Here, wooden elements meet textile materials, surrounded by a warm colour scheme. Identity is not set as a striking signal here, but is a natural part of the space.

The lighting design by Mabalux rounds off the interior design concept by treating light and acoustics as a single entity. Wherever different sources of noise from everyday work come together, acoustically effective elements become important – such as the Ringo Star Acoustic pendant lights, which are used extensively. Their centrally integrated sound absorber covers a wide frequency spectrum, specifically reduces reverberation time and supports a balanced indoor climate. In the canteen, Matric recessed luminaires with clear geometry provide calm, uniform basic lighting.
