Architecture is emphasised and given expression through light The Liquid Line series as a precise tool for interior design

Airport lounges are becoming increasingly important for frequent flyers, as they offer quiet retreats. Air Canada has taken this concept a step further to allow its customers to relax and focus on work before their flights. The airline’s fourth lounge has now opened in Vancouver. “This new space is all about offering guests a thoughtful blend of modern amenities and a cozy atmosphere while celebrating the beauty and spirit of Vancouver,” explains Jacqueline Harkness, Managing Director of Products and Services at Air Canada.

Designed by the Vancouver-based firm Smart Design, the Air Canada Café spans 138 m² and can accommodate up to 52 guests. Its architecture, featuring a ceiling inspired by an aircraft fuselage, evokes the geometry of aviation. At the same time, the organic curves symbolize the natural landscape of British Columbia. The recessed luminaires from our Liquid Line series follow this design language, as light emphasizes and gives expression to architecture. The series can be precisely adapted to the floor plan, ceiling structure, and intended use. This creates a lighting concept that provides orientation, clearly defines zones, and supports the spatial logic without disruption.
