Healing architecture in its truest form How light and room structure specifically promote well-being

The O.P.I. Dentistry and Surgery practice is a prime example of healing architecture in its purest form. This architecture aims to consciously strengthen the physical and mental well-being of patients and staff—based on findings from neuroscience and environmental psychology. Studies show how light, a connection to nature, and clear orientation reduce stress and measurably support healing processes.

The interior designers at why the friday and the lighting designers at Lichtbox translate this requirement into a spatial architecture of remarkable tranquility. Gently guided light, softly rounded walls, and an open, flowing structure allow the eye to glide naturally through the practice. Sage green, finely nuanced shades of gray, and light ash lend the surfaces a natural warmth. Everything here is understated, clear, and soothing at the same time.

Light plays a defining role: it provides orientation, reduces stress on the eyes, and guides intuitively. A meandering recessed luminaire from our Liquid Line series on the ceiling acts as a visual guideline and connects the functional areas to form a clearly legible structure. Above the tables, filigree Midpoint pendant luminaires distribute precise, glare-free light.
